Emma is one of the biggest mattress brands in Australia and one of the things they do is keep innovating. In this Emma Comfort Adapt Plus mattress review, I discuss this updated version that features an improved cover that promises cooler nights.
The core of this mattress is identical to the Emma Comfort Adapt mattress. It features a hybrid design that combines comfort with support and the result is a well-balanced mattress. I got mine almost a week ago so I am ready to discuss it in detail in the full review below.
What is this mattress made of?
This mattress features 4 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- An Aerofoam layer that can remove the excess heat and help you sleep cool during the night.
- A MemoryAdapt foam layer that offers a better pressure distribution.
- A Comfort HRX foam layer that can adapt to your body’s movement. This will allow you to sleep comfortably in every sleeping position.
- A pocket spring layer that is the main source of support. This type of spring allows airflow so the sleeping surface can stay cool during the night.
The mattress measures 25cm in height and the picture below gives us a better look at its architecture.
Does it have a better cover?
The cover of this mattress is the main reason you should buy it. It’s called Adaptive CoolTex and it’s perfect for all seasons. It features the latest tech that can activate your skin’s cold receptors which ensure a long cooling effect. Additionally, it can absorb and evaporate your sweat which makes it an ideal option for the Australian summer. The cover has a basic design and it’s removable. That means that you can clean it using your washing machine so it’s quite easy to maintain. On the sides, you will find 4 handles that will help you move it with ease. Overall, this is a fantastic cover that won’t disappoint.
Is this a firm mattress?
I want to continue writing this Emma Comfort Adapt Plus mattress review and talk about its feel. This is a mattress built for the average sleeper so it comes with a medium-firm feel. However, it’s closer to a medium mattress rather than a firm one. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say this is a 6 with 10 being really firm. Let’s talk now about my experience with it in the past week.
Lying on my back the mattress instantly felt supportive but at the same time very comfortable. This is not very easy to achieve and the engineers at Emma have probably found the sweet spot here. Pressure relief was great and I was comfortable sleeping this way.
Turning to the side position, the pocket springs adjusted quickly and this allowed my spine to align correctly. Support remained good and there was no pain or discomfort in the hip and shoulder area.
Finally, turning to the front position, the Comfort Adapt Plus mattress surprised me. Despite this being a medium-firm mattress, it managed to provide me with the right support for this position. This is not common and it shows how well-designed this mattress is. Overall, this is an all-rounder that won’t disappoint.
How much will I pay for delivery?
Although it’s quite common to pay for delivery in Australia, the people at Emma did their best so this mattress comes with free delivery. What is more important is that if you place your order before 10 am on a weekday, you are eligible for same-day delivery, provided you live in a Metro area (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide). In all other cases, you will receive your mattress within 1-3 working days. Depending on your postcode, you will be notified of the delivery process either via text or email. In my case, I got a link via text and I could live-track the progress of the driver. The courier was very friendly and the whole process was smooth. Overall, I was happy with their service so no complaints at all.
Is there a trial period offered with this mattress?
If you don’t feel comfortable buying a mattress online, I have great news for you. This mattress comes with a 100-night trial period that allows you to try it at home. If for any reason, you are not happy with your purchase, you can return it and get a full refund. Returns are free and all you have to do is contact them to arrange a mattress collection. After this is done, they will refund you the full amount.
Moreover, the Emma Comfort Adapt Plus mattress comes with a 10-year warranty that will have you covered for a long time. This is something that is the norm these days, especially if you buy a rolled mattress. Overall, the people at Emma offer a complete package here which makes this mattress an appealing proposition.
Is this an expensive mattress?
If you decide to buy one, you will be given 5 size options that will probably cover everyone’s needs. The smaller size (Single) will cost you $1,029 with the bigger one (King) going for $1,399. Having said that, Emma is a maker that runs frequent promotions so you will most probably pay less than the retail price. The table below has pricing information for all available sizes.
