Does it feature a nice cover?
The cover of this mattress features two parts. The upper white part is made of a cashmere knitted fabric that adds a premium character to this mattress. It’s quite soft and will make you feel quite comfortable sleeping on it. The side and bottom part is black, and it’s made of a 3D spacer fabric. It’s designed to allow airflow and will help the mattress to sleep cool. The cover is quite durable, but unfortunately, it is not removable or machine-washable. That means that if you get it stained, you should only clean it with a damp cloth and some mild detergent. Another drawback here is the lack of side handles, but thankfully, this is not a particularly heavy mattress. The design is a modern one, and in my opinion, is one of the prettiest mattresses out there. Overall, this is a high-quality cover with a few minor weaknesses.
Is this a firm mattress?
I want to continue writing this Sleep Republic mattress review and talk about its feel. This is a medium-firm option that is built to suit the average sleeper. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 6.7 with 10 being really firm. I want to talk now about my experience with it during the past two weeks.
Starting from the back position, the mattress supported my back, and the weight distribution was optimal. I was comfortable sleeping this way, and there were no pressure points on my spine.
Turning to the side position, the pocket springs adjusted quickly, which allowed my spine to have a neutral alignment. The sleeping surface wasn’t too firm, so there was no discomfort on my hips or shoulders.
Finally, moving to the stomach position, the mattress did a good job of supporting my hips and shoulders, which helped me sleep more comfortably. I would probably prefer a slightly firmer feel here, but still, this mattress did a good job in this position.
One of the impressive things about this mattress is its edge support, thanks to the steel springs on the perimeter. That means that you won’t roll off the mattress during nighttime. Moreover, the motion transfer is minimal, so couples won’t disturb each other during the night.
Will I pay for delivery?
The short answer is no. The people at Sleep Republic offer a free delivery service that covers the whole of Australia. What is more impressive is that for Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Gold Coast, they offer a next-day delivery for all orders that are placed before 2pm. For the rest of the areas, you should expect your mattress within 3-7 working days. I also have to mention here that if you live in a remote area, delivery can take up to 14 working days.
As I have mentioned earlier, this is a rolled mattress, so it will come packed inside a carton box. I am based in Sydney, so I got my mattress within 2 working days as I placed my order in the evening. The process was straightforward, and communication was great. The courier arrived on time, and I had a good experience with them. Overall, this is a good service package that won’t disappoint.
