After seeing great success with their first mattress, the people at Sleep Republic decided to release two new options. In this Sleep Republic Luxe mattress review, I discuss their more premium offering that is mainly designed for those looking for comfort.
After trying the Sleep Republic ES mattress, I was very curious to get my hands on their Luxe mattress too. The latter was built like a hotel mattress, and that says a lot about its quality and performance. Mine arrived almost a week ago, so let’s move now to the full review below.
What is inside this mattress?
This mattress features 6 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- A gel-infused memory foam layer that has great pressure-relieving properties. It’s also designed to sleep cool.
- A Bio-based memory foam layer that can contour your body and reduce pressure points.
- A Kinetiq™ Foam layer that is designed to evenly distribute pressure. It’s very responsive and can provide your body with dynamic support.
- A natural latex layer that regulates airflow and body temperature.
- A layer of high-definition pocket springs. These springs form 7 zones for tailored support.
- A layer made of higher tensile steel springs that improve edge support.
The Luxe mattress measures 33cm in height, so you should expect a high profile. The image below gives us a better look at the position of each layer.
Does it come with a high-quality cover?
When designing this cover, the engineers at Sleep Republic had in mind the Australian weather. For this reason, they used a fabric that is infused with silver. The latter has a number of properties that are very useful. Firstly, it has the ability to regulate heat, which is very important both in winter and summer. Secondly, it has antibacterial properties, which means that the sleeping surface will stay hygienic. Lastly, it can wick away moisture so you can sleep more comfortably.
The cover comes with a modern design that features a white top part and black sides. On the sides, you will find 4 handles that will allow you to carry it with more ease. Unfortunately, this cover is not removable, so you cannot clean it using your washing machine. This is the main drawback here, but other than that, this is a high-quality cover that won’t disappoint.
How firm is this mattress?
I want to continue writing this Sleep Republic Luxe mattress review and discuss its feel. This is a medium-firm feel mattress, and if I use my virtual scale here, I would say this is a 6 with 10 being really firm. I want to talk now about my experience with this mattress during the past week.
Starting from the back position, the mattress felt both comfortable and supportive. There were no pressure points on my back, and I felt that this was a sturdy and well-made mattress.
Turning to the side position, the mattress adjusted quickly, and the sleeping surface didn’t cause any discomfort in my hips or shoulders. There were still high levels of support, and my spinal alignment was neutral.
Finally, moving to the front position, the mattress managed to support my hips and shoulders despite its feel. This surprised me, but I can comfortably say that the Luxe mattress is a true all-rounder.
Another strength of this mattress is its edge support. Thanks to the higher tensile steel springs, you will be able to get in and out of bed with ease. Finally, if you sleep with a partner, there is minimal motion transfer, so you won’t disturb each other during the night.
Will I pay for delivery?
If you decide to buy a mattress from them, they offer free delivery for all Australian postcodes. What is even better is that for Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Gold Coast, they offer a free next-day delivery service, so you won’t have to wait long to get your mattress. This is fantastic, and not many companies offer it. To be eligible for that, you have to place your order before 2 pm. For all the other areas, your mattress needs 3-7 working days, which is quite normal for Australia.
In my case, it took two working days, and I remind you that I am based in Sydney. The box came with some small damage, but nothing too serious in order to affect the mattress. Communication was great, and I was well informed about every step of the process. The courier arrived on time, and overall, I had a great experience with them.
Is there a trial period?
If you don’t feel comfortable buying a mattress online, I have good news for you. All Sleep Republic mattresses come with a 150-night trial period, so you have plenty of time to try this from the comfort of your home. Returns are free, so if you feel that this doesn’t match your needs, you can return it and get your money back. The process is not a complicated one, and all you have to do is contact their customer service department.
Besides that, all their mattresses come with a 12-year warranty, which is one of the longest you will find in Australia. This shows how much they value their customers, but also the high quality of their products. Overall, this is a complete support package here that has really impressed me.
How much will it cost me?
This mattress is available in only 3 sizes, and this is one thing that they should change. The smaller one (Double) sells for $1,949, while the bigger one (King) goes for $2,399.
