Finding your next mattress is not always an easy task, but thankfully, I am here to help you out! In this Eva Comfort Classic mattress review, I am exploring this value-for-money option that is one of the most popular boxed mattresses in Australia.
All Eva mattresses are designed in Melbourne but they are manufactured in China. This allows them to offer high-quality mattresses at affordable prices. The Eva mattress features a hybrid design and it combines memory foam and latex with pocket springs. I got mine about a month ago so it’s a good time now to write this review.
What is an Eva mattress made of?
The Eva mattress is made of 4 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- A gel memory foam layer that is designed to stay cool during sleep. It can regulate the body’s heat very efficiently but at the same time, it can provide your body with the needed pressure relief.
- A density foam layer that connects the upper foam layers with the pocket springs.
- A layer made of pocket springs. They feature a 5-zone system which can provide your body with plenty of support.
On the edges of the Eva mattress, they have added robust springs which help with edge support. This is a clever design and shows that the engineers at Eva did an excellent job. The picture below showcases the position of each layer.
What is the cover made of?
The cover of the Eva mattress is made of polyester. They decided to use this material because it’s durable but at the same time, it’s very breathable. It features a contemporary design with the top part being white and the side part being grey. The people at Eva added 4 side handles which will help you when you want to rotate and move it. The top part feels soft but at the same time, it’s quite strong. Overall, this is a cover that does the job so I have no complaints here.
How firm is the Eva mattress?
Let’s continue now with this Eva Comfort Classic mattress review and talk about its feel. This mattress comes with a medium-firm feel so it will suit the majority of sleepers. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say this is a 7 with 10 being really firm. I would like now to talk about the different sleeping positions and how this mattress performed.
Starting from the back position, the foam layers hugged my hips and shoulders while the 5-zone system worked well to support my body. Pressure relief was adequate and I felt quite comfortable in this position.
Turning to my side, the springs adjusted quickly to my body’s weight and sinkage increased. My spine was aligned properly and the mattress didn’t feel too firm. Support was good and the mattress felt comfortable.
Finally, moving to the stomach position, the mattress did a good job with my hips and chest. The firmness profile felt ideal for this position and I think that the Eva mattress is a good option for stomach sleepers.
If you are a couple, transfer motion is minimal so partner disturbance shouldn’t be a problem. The design of the mattress and the pocket springs help with edge support so you will have the same performance across the 4 corners of the bed.
What type of bed should I use with this mattress?
You can place your Eva mattress on any flat surface including your floor. However, this is not the best idea as it’s not very hygienic and it’s also harder for the mattress to breathe. I would advise you to use a slatted frame or a divan bed. According to the maker, the Eva mattress is not suitable for use on flexi slats, sprung slats or adjustable bed bases.
Is this a boxed mattress?
When you buy this mattress, it will come packed in a carton box. It comes with a free delivery service for all of mainland Australia and they offer free next-day delivery for the Metro areas. This is a great service and I was really impressed by the speed of delivery. I live in Sydney and for me, it was only 2 days. I received a text with my delivery info and the whole process was smooth. Overall, Eva does really well on this end so no complaints at all.
Will the Eva mattress come with a trial period?
All Eva mattresses come with a 365-night trial period which is fantastic! This is exactly one year for you to try this mattress and decide whether you want to keep it or not. If you are not happy with it, they will pick this up for free and give you a full refund. I have to point out here that most other makers offer 100-night trial periods so Eva does a better job here. All returned mattresses are donated to charities which is a great gesture by Eva.
Besides that, you will also get a 10-year warranty which shows how confident they are about their products. Of course, make sure you read the terms of service so you know what is included. Overall, this is a great package and Eva does great here.
How much does it cost?
The Eva mattress is an affordable option so you don’t have to break the bank to get it. The smaller (Single) size sells for $600 with the bigger (King) going for $1,000. They run frequent promotions so you will probably pay less than that. For example, at the moment of writing, they offer $100 off every mattress. The table below has pricing information for all the available sizes.
SIZE | DIMENSIONS | PRICE |
Single | 92 x 188 x 32cm | $600 |
King Single | 107 x 203 x 32cm | $700 |
Double | 138 x 188 x 32cm | $800 |
Queen | 153 x 203 x 32cm | $900 |
King | 183 x 203 x 32cm | $1,000 |
