Ecosa is a popular brand that has released a number of mattresses for every need and budget. In this Ecosa Aerolux mattress review, I discuss this premium option that is designed for those looking for a hotel-style mattress.
This is another hybrid mattress that can provide your body with high levels of comfort but also support. This is their most premium offering now, and it takes this title from the Ecosa CoolComfort mattress. Mine was delivered almost two weeks ago, so it’s time now to move to the full review below.
What’s inside this mattress?
The AeroLux mattress features 5 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- A plush foam layer that delivers a balance of softness and support.
- A support memory foam layer that has pressure-relieving properties and can contour to your body’s shape.
- A gel memory foam layer that can disperse heat for a more comfortable sleep.
- A soft transition foam layer that prevents the feel of pocket coils and reduces pressure points.
- A layer made of high-quality pocket springs that form 7 support zones. This ensures that you have a neutral spinal alignment. These springs are also designed to minimise motion transfer.
The mattress measures 40cm in height, so it has a very big profile. The image below gives us a better look at the position of every layer.
Does it feature a nice cover?
This mattress features a fantastic cover that is one of the best I have seen. It’s made of Tencel, a material that has a number of great properties. These include breathability, durability and eco-friendliness. As I have mentioned above, the cover comes with an integrated pillow top that adds a premium character to this mattress. It also adds extra comfort and a plush feel. The design is a premium one, and the cover has a nice ivory colour. The top part is removable, and you can machine wash it. This is great as you can keep it fresh with minimal effort.
On the sides, you will find 4 handles that will allow you to move it with more ease. This is super needed here, as this is quite a heavy mattress. At the bottom, they have added an anti-slip base, so this mattress will stay in place. Overall, this is a fantastic cover that truly impressed me.
How firm is this mattress?
I want to continue writing this Ecosa Aerolux mattress review and talk about its feel. This mattress has a plush feel, and if I use my virtual scale, I would say it’s a 5.5 with 10 being really firm. I want to share now my experience with it during the past two weeks.
Starting from the back position, I felt that I was sleeping on a cloud. The pillow top did a fantastic job, and it was super comfortable sleeping this way. There were no pressure points, and support was great.
Turning to the side position, the mattress adjusted quickly, and this allowed my spine to align correctly. The pillow top reduced the pressure on my hips and shoulders, and it was comfortable sleeping on my side.
Finally, turning to the front position, the mattress managed to support my body, despite the plush feel. This was a bit of a surprise, but at the same time, a mattress of this quality should perform well in all sleeping positions.
If you sleep with a partner, this mattress is ideal. It features springs that minimise motion transfer, so you can forget about partner disturbance. Finally, the edge support is great, which is expected from such a well-made mattress.
Will I pay for delivery?
The short answer is no, you won’t pay. What is even better is that the people at Ecosa offer a free next-day delivery service for all Metro areas. To be eligible for that, you have to place your order before 11.59 pm on a weekday. For non-Metro areas, delivery is also free and can take between 2-10 working days. I have to mention here that for some regional areas, there will be a flat fee of $175 due to higher transportation costs. The mattress will be delivered inside a carton box straight to your door or deposited in your room of choice (at no extra cost).
In my case, the mattress was delivered within 2 days, and as you know, I am based in Sydney. The courier placed it inside my bedroom per my request, and he was a friendly chap. The box arrived in good condition, but make sure you have some help as this is a very heavy mattress. Communication from Ecosa was great, and overall, I was happy with their service.
Is there a way to try this at home?
The good news is that all Ecosa mattresses come with a 100-night trial period that allows you to try this mattress at home. To put this into perspective, you have more than 3 months to decide whether you want to keep this mattress or not. If you feel that this is not a good fit, you can return it and get your money back. All returned mattresses are then donated to charity partners.
Besides that, the Aerolux mattress comes with a 10-year warranty. This is disappointing as all other Ecosa mattresses come with a 15-year warranty. I am not sure why this is happening, but I hope this will change in the near future. Overall, this is a good support package, but not the best you will find in Australia.
How much will it cost me?
This mattress is a premium one, so it’s only available in bigger sizes. There are 3 options to choose from, with the smaller one (Queen) going for $3,500 and the bigger one (Super King) selling for $4,000. Of course, Ecosa is a maker that runs frequent promotions, so you will probably pay less than that. The table below has pricing information for all available sizes.
