In this Dusk and Dawn Vitality mattress review, I discuss this new option that is designed for those looking for a customisable but affordable mattress. This mattress is part of the Flexi Collection that also includes the Dusk and Dawn Harmony mattress.
Unlike their other mattresses, the Vitality one comes rolled inside a box and will be delivered directly to your door. However, it’s made to order, so it doesn’t sit rolled in a warehouse waiting to be shipped. This is a main difference here, and it’s important to point that out. Mine was delivered 10 days ago, so it’s time now to move to the full review below.
What’s inside this mattress?
This mattress features 5 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- A Premium Dusk Air layer that has excellent thermo-regulating properties. It can also reduce pressure and help your spine rest better.
- A Hypersoft layer that adds comfort but also support.
- An Elasta Gel layer that has cooling properties. It also adds pressure relief and support.
- A DuskFlex Switch Comfort layer that allows for personalised comfort adjustments. It’s designed to breathe and offer excellent pressure distribution.
- A layer made of pocket springs that form 5 support zones. They contour to your body for optimal spinal alignment and are designed to minimize partner disturbance.
Despite this mattress being a rolled one, it features a high profile that measures 34cm.

Does it feature a nice cover?
The cover of this mattress looks and feels quite premium. It’s made of a comfort-stretch fabric that has an excellent fit and feels soft to the touch. The top part of the cover also features a 3D mesh gusset that ensures maximum breathability. The latter is very important, especially for a climate with hot summers like the Australian. The design is a modern one, and the cover features a nice pattern on the surface. The sleeping surface is white, while the side and bottom parts are black. On the sides, they have added four handles that will help you move it with more ease. This was a clever and practical addition, as this is a relatively heavy mattress, especially if you order the bigger sizes. Overall, this is a high-quality cover that won’t disappoint.

Is this a firm mattress?
Let’s continue now with this Dusk and Dawn Vitality mattress review and discuss its feel. All mattresses from this brand are available in 3 different setups: Comfy Medium, Plush & Firm Support. That gives you the choice to order a mattress that suits your needs and taste. If you are unsure about what to choose, you can order the ‘Comfy Medium’, and if you are not happy with it, they will help you change it, but more on that later. I did exactly that, and if I use my virtual scale here, I would say that this is a 6.7 with 10 being really firm.

The Vitality mattress did a good job in all sleeping positions, and its support was truly impressive. Moreover, it managed to reduce pressure points on my back, and I had a comfortable sleep. The cooling system was quite efficient, and I never felt too hot or cold during the night. The mattress has great edge support, and while sleeping with my wife, I didn’t feel major partner disturbance. Overall, it’s a well-balanced mattress that has impressed me.
Do they ship it for free?
If you decide to order one, you will get free delivery provided you live in a Metro area. On the other hand, if you are based in a Regional area, there will be a flat fee of $300. I understand that transportation costs are quite expensive, but this flat fee is among the highest I have seen in the industry and might be a reason to look elsewhere.
I am based in Sydney and I didn’t have to pay anything. The mattress arrived within 4 days, and it was well-packaged. The courier left it on my doorstep, and he was a friendly guy. Dusk and Dawn updated me on every step of the process, and overall, I was happy with their service.
Does it come with a free trial period?
All Dusk and Dawn mattresses come with a 100-night comfort guarantee that gives you the right to ask for a feel change if you are not happy with the one you ordered. In this case, the people at Dusk and Dawn will send you a replacement comfort layer that you can install yourself. All of that is free of charge, but if you still feel that this isn’t a good match, you can return your mattress and ask for a full refund.
Besides that, all their mattresses come with a 10-year warranty, which shows the quality of their products. Overall, this is a good support package here that gives customers loads of flexibility.

How expensive is this mattress?
One of the great things about Dusk and Dawn is that they release their mattresses in many sizes. The Vitality mattress is available in 6 sizes, with the smaller one (Single) selling for $1,599 and the bigger one (King) going for $2,699. The good news is that this is a brand that runs frequent promotions, so you probably won’t pay the full retail price. The table below has pricing information for all sizes.

Single | 190 x 94 x 34cm | $1,599 |
Long Single | 205 x 94 x 34cm | $1,699 |

Should I consider the Dusk and Dawn Vitality mattress?
It’s time now to complete this Dusk and Dawn Vitality mattress review and share my final thoughts with you. In my opinion, this would be a great option for anyone looking for:
- A hybrid mattress that suits all sleeping positions.
- An Australian-made mattress that is available in 3 different mattress setups.
- A mattress that comes with a 100-night comfort guarantee.
Dusk and Dawn managed to create a great all-rounder here, and their first attempt to enter the boxed mattress industry was successful. The Vitality mattress is well-balanced, sleeps cool and features a high-quality construction. If you live in a Metro area, this mattress can be a great choice!
