If you are looking for a mattress with adjustable firmness, you should definitely read this Dusk and Dawn Harmony mattress review. This belongs to the newly developed Flexi collection that also includes the Dusk and Dawn Vitality mattress.
This brand has become quite popular for making premium mattresses that are designed and manufactured here in Australia. With the Flexi collection, they attempt to enter the boxed mattress space, which is very crowded at the moment. My Harmony mattress was delivered a week ago, so it’s time now to move to the full review below.
What is this mattress made of?
This mattress features 5 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- A Premium Dusk Air Hybrid layer that is designed to reduce pressure points. This layer also has excellent thermo-regulating properties and will keep you warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
- A breathable Hygroflex layer that adds both comfort and support.
- A DuskFlex FlipTech Adaptive Comfort layer that allows you to change the feel of the mattress by just flipping it over.
- A layer made of pocket springs that form 5 zones for tailored support.
- A firm foam box encasement that massively improves edge support.
The mattress measures 34cm in height, so it has a relatively high profile.

Does it come with a nice cover?
One of the things I like about this mattress is its cover. It’s made of a comfort-stretch fabric that feels soft to the touch and has a nice, tight fit. On the side, it features a mesh gusset that increases breathability and helps the sleeping surface stay cool during the night. This is very important, especially for climates like the Australian.
The design features a black side part and a white top part. It’s quite modern, and it’s very similar to the other Dusk and Dawn mattresses. On the sides, you will find 4 handles that will help you move it whenever needed. This is very practical, especially for such a heavy mattress like the Harmony one. Overall, this is a great cover that won’t disappoint.

How firm is this mattress?
I want to continue writing this Dusk and Dawn Harmony mattress review and talk about its feel. This mattress comes with an adjustable feel, so you can choose between soft-medium or medium-firm. This gives you a lot of flexibility, and you will definitely find the right setup. To change the feel, all you have to do is unzip the top part and flip the comfort layer.
I tried both setups, and there is a noticeable difference between the sides. This is great, as more adjustable mattresses don’t offer a big difference. Having said that, both setups offer great support and pressure relief. Moreover, the weight distribution was optimal, and the Harmony mattress performed well in all sleeping positions.
As for the edge support, I would say it’s great. Thanks to the foam box encasement, you will get in and out of bed with ease. Finally, for those sleeping with a partner, the springs are designed to minimise motion transfer so you won’t disturb each other too much.
Will I pay for delivery?
That is fully dependent on your postcode. If you live in a Metro area, delivery is complimentary, so you don’t have to pay anything. On the other hand, if you live in a Regional area, there is a flat fee of $300. In my opinion, this is quite high, and other makers charge way less than that. So this is definitely something that the people at Dusk and Dawn should revisit.
I live in Sydney, so I didn’t pay anything for shipping. The mattress arrived within 4 days, and the box was in good condition. All Dusk and Dawn mattresses are delivered to your doorstep, so make sure you have a second person with you to help you move it. The courier was prompt and polite, and overall, my experience with them was quite pleasant.
Can I try this at home?
If you don’t feel comfortable buying a mattress online, I have good news for you. The Harmony mattress comes with a 100-night trial period that gives you more than 3 months to try it at home. If, for any reason, you are not happy with it, you have the right to return it and get a full refund. This is great, and it makes this a risk-free purchase.
Other than that, you will also get a 10-year warranty that will have you covered for a long time. You can find out more about it on their warranty page. Overall, this is a good support package that won’t disappoint.

How much will I pay for this mattress?

Should I consider the Dusk and Dawn Harmony mattress?
I am ready to complete this Dusk and Dawn Harmony mattress review now and share my final verdict about it. In my opinion, this would be a great option for anyone looking for:
- An adjustable mattress that is built for every sleeping position.
- A hybrid mattress that has excellent edge support.
- A mattress that comes with a 100-night trial period.
The Harmony mattress is a premium boxed mattress that is built and designed here in Australia. It comes with an adjustable feel that is quite easy to change and an efficient cooling mechanism that is built for the Australian climate. Of course, all that comes at a price, but if you have the budget for it, this is definitely a mattress to consider.
