If you are looking for an all-natural option, this Peace Lily Hybrid mattress review is what you need to read. This is the second release from this brand and it’s definitely an interesting one. Unlike the Peace Lily mattress, this one features a hybrid design that combines pocket springs with latex.
As expected, this is another boxed mattress that will be delivered directly to your door. I decided to order mine almost two weeks ago so it’s a good time now to move to the full review below.
What’s inside this mattress?
This mattress is made of a total of 4 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- A natural latex layer that can reduce pressure points. They use Dunlop latex which is known for its quality and durability.
- A layer made of pocket springs that is the main source of support. These are made of Grade 65 high carbon steel so they are designed to last.
- A natural latex edge support border that does exactly what its name suggests.
- A natural latex support layer that is reactive and adds extra comfort.
Around the layers, there is an organic cotton wadding that protects the mattress and adds a plush feel. The Peace Lily Hybrid mattress measures 24cm so it has a medium profile. The picture below gives us a better look of the position of each layer.
What is the cover made of?
As I have mentioned before, this is an all-natural mattress and for this reason, they decided to use a cover that is made of high-density cotton cover. This is a premium fabric that is quite durable but at the same time allows airflow. Cotton is naturally hypoallergenic and is suitable for those with sensitive skin. The cover has a beige colour and it has a nice clean look. On the sides, there are 4 carrying handles which is a nice practical feature. Unfortunately, the cover is not removable so if you get a stain, you should clean it with a dump cloth and some mild detergent. This is the main drawback here as I personally prefer removable covers. Other than that, this is a high-quality cover that won’t disappoint.
Is this a firm option?
It’s time now to continue with this Peace Lily Hybrid mattress review and discuss its feel. This is a medium-firm mattress that will suit most people. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 6.7 with 10 being really firm. I want to talk now about my experience with it during the past two weeks.
Starting from the back position, the mattress distributed my weight evenly and that reduced the pressure on my back. I was comfortable in this position and support was good.
Turning to the side position, the springs did a good job adjusting to the new position and there was no discomfort on my hips. My spinal alignment was neutral and the latex layer added enough comfort.
Finally, moving to the stomach position, the sleeping surface was firm enough and I felt well-supported. There was no sinking for my hips and I must say that this mattress has impressed me as it’s a true all-rounder.
As for the edge support, the foam border does a great job so you will get in and out of bed with ease. The pocket springs will transfer some motion but nothing too bad. That means that this mattress is couple-friendly.
Does it come with free delivery?
If you buy a mattress from them, you will get free delivery for all orders. If you live in a Metro area, you should expect your mattress within 1-5 working days. On the other hand, if you live in a Regional area, delivery will take 4-10 business days. Finally, for those living in rural areas, delivery can take up to two weeks.
In my case, it was only 3 working days and I remind you that I am based in Sydney. Communication was great and they contacted me via email and text. The box arrived in good condition and the courier was very helpful. Overall, their service was great so no complaints at all.
Can I try this before I buy it?
Buying a mattress online makes some people nervous but the people at Peace Lily seem to understand that. For this reason, they offer a 100-night trial period that gives you more than 3 months to try this at home. If for any reason, you are not happy with it, you can return it and get a full refund. You don’t have to keep the original packaging to be able to complete one and their customer service department will help you out with the whole process.
Besides that, all Peace Lily mattresses come with a 15-year warranty which is one of the longest you can find in Australia. Before you buy it, make sure you read the full terms and conditions so you know what you are getting. Overall, this is a fantastic package here that has impressed me.
