The bad news is that this cover is not removable so you can not clean it with your washing machine. Instead, if you get a stain, you should use a mild detergent with a dump cloth to spot-clean it. How firm is this mattress?

The Koala Luxe has a medium-firm feel and if I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 6.5 with 10 being really firm. I want to talk now about my experience with it during the past week.

Lying on my back, the topper hugged my hips and shoulders and I felt very comfortable in this position. I wasn’t sinking into the mattress and the support was great. Moreover, there was no pressure on my joints which helped my spine rest better.

I need to mention here that the two options are quite similar and they are not too different. Let’s talk now about the different sleeping positions and how this mattress performed.

I have mentioned countless times that the height of the pillow is a very important factor. The Koala pillow has a height of 15cm. This can be a problem for stomach sleepers as the high loft can make them feel uncomfortable. Having said that, this was not the case for me and I think the fact that it has a softer side helps a lot. I had a good experience with all sleeping positions but I think that this is best suited to side and back sleepers. The memory foam piece provided my neck and head with pressure relief and the pillow was very supportive. Overall, it’s a versatile option and I was really impressed by it.

How does the Koala mattress feel?

I want to continue with this Koala mattress review and talk about its feel. When designing this mattress, they wanted to create one that would suit the average sleeper. For this reason, the Koala mattress has a medium-firm feel. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 6.5 with 10 being really firm. Let’s see now how this mattress performed.

Starting from the back position, the two foam layers did a good job and my body was well-supported. I felt quite comfortable in this position, and my spine was aligned correctly.

Moving to the side position, the mattress reacted quickly, and sinkage increased. I didn’t feel any discomfort in the hips area, and I felt that the mattress did a good job with my spine alignment.

Finally, moving to the stomach position, I felt that pressure relief was adequate, and my hips and shoulders were well supported. I think that stomach sleepers would probably prefer a slightly firmer mattress, but Koala did a decent job here.
