• A Dusk Air layer that is infused with Hygroflex. It can redistribute pressure better and allow airflow. Additionally, it has antibacterial properties.
• A GraphTek Comfort layer that has pressure-relieving properties. This is a breathable foam that has antimicrobial properties.
• An Elasta Gel layer that can provide your body with comfort and pressure relief.
• A high-density foam layer that can regulate your body’s temperature.
• A mini-coil layer that forms a 5-zone sleeping area. It can provide maximum body contouring and support.
• An Iso Coil Ultra pocket spring layer that can distribute weight evenly.

The Signature Luxe mattress measures 38cm in height so it has a super tall profile. The image below gives us an understanding of this mattress’ architecture.

How good is the cover?

The cover of this mattress is a sophisticated one and it’s made of three parts. The top one is the sleeping surface and it’s made with Outlast fabric. This was developed by NASA (Yes, you heard correctly!) and it has phase-changing properties. That means it can absorb your body heat, store it and release it back when your body cools. Underneath that, there is a gusset fabric that is very breathable and stretchy. It ensures that all the comfort layers work as intended. Finally, there is the bottom part which is made of a high-quality velvet fabric. This feels soft and it gives a luxurious character to this mattress.

Unfortunately, this cover is not removable but this is expected from such a mattress. If you get it stained, you can clean it with a dump cloth and some mild detergent. On the sides, they have added 4 handles that will help you move it. These are much needed as this is a really heavy mattress. Overall, this is a superb cover and it’s impressive what they did here.

Is this a firm mattress?

I want to continue writing this Dusk and Dawn Signature Luxe mattress review and talk about its firmness. I decided to get the Comfy Medium option which has a medium-firm feel. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 6.5 with 10 being really firm. Let’s see now how this mattress performed during the past ten days.

Lying on my back, the mattress felt super comfortable but at the same time very supportive. My spinal alignment was correct and the weight distribution was ideal.

Turning to the side position, the mattress adjusted quickly and sinkage increased. My spinal alignment was proper and I felt well supported sleeping this way.

Finally, moving to the front position, the mattress supported my hips and shoulders which is very important in this position. Overall, this mattress is good for every sleeping position so it will suit most sleepers.

Another impressive thing about this mattress is the edge support. The combination of springs with the foam box means that you can use the whole of the sleeping surface. As for the motion transfer, this is minimal so you won’t disturb your partner.

Do they offer free delivery?

That means that a two-person team will place the mattress on your bedframe and will remove the packaging. The white glove delivery is offered for free for all customers living in a Metro Area. If you live in a Regional area, there is a flat fee of $250. I remind you that I am based in Sydney so it didn’t cost me anything. The experience was seamless and it’s definitely one of the best services that I got.

On the sides, you will find 4 handles that will help you move this mattress. Unfortunately, this is not a removable cover and in my opinion, it’s the only drawback here. Overall, this is a fantastic mattress cover that works great.

Is this a firm mattress?

During the design process, the people at Origin wanted to create a mattress for those suffering from chronic back & joint conditions. For this reason, this is a medium-firm mattress and if I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 6.5 with 10 being really firm. I want to talk now about my experience with it for the past week.

Lying on my back, the mattress distributed my weight evenly and that took the pressure away from my joints. Support was excellent and I was comfortable sleeping this way.

Turning to the side position, the spring layers adjusted quickly which helped my spine to align correctly. There was no discomfort in my hip and shoulder areas and I was well supported.

Finally, turning to the stomach position, the mattress managed to support my chest and hips. This made me feel quite comfortable and I enjoyed sleeping this way. As a result, I can say that this mattress is suitable for every sleeping position.
