That means that it’s free from latex, adhesives, or chemical-filled nasties. This mattress features two layers with different firmness profiles. For the first months of your baby’s life, you should choose the firmer side but as it grows, you can move to the softer side to add some extra comfort.

The Nestflow core is very breathable which is important for good hygiene. The good news is that it’s washable so if you have a big mesh, you can wash the core in the shower, bath or under a garden hose. This is extremely useful and an important reason to consider getting this cot mattress.

Around the core, there is a cover made from a 3D Mesh & Tencel blend that works great. As I have mentioned before, this is a really firm mattress, and if I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s an 8, with 10 being really firm. I would like to talk now about the different sleeping positions and how this mattress performed in the past week.

Starting from the back position, the mattress felt really firm, but I didn’t feel that it was uncomfortable. I was well-supported, and my spinal alignment was correct.

The Rio sofa bed is made of two parts; the armrests and the bed. It’s delivered in one big box and all you have to do is assemble it. This process is an easy one and it will only take you a minute. I have to mention here that you don’t need any tools for that and you can do it by yourself.

The cover is made of recycled ocean bottles and they have worked with Ocean Cycle for this project. This is a great initiative by Ecosa which shows that they have the right corporate values. Underneath the cover, you will find premium cushioning foam that has a nice bounce and feels comfortable. Overall, this is a well-made sofa bed that will impress you with its quality.

Design & Practicality

One of the things I love about this sofa bed is its design. It’s a really stylish one and it will definitely improve the looks of your living room. What is even better here is that it’s available in 3 colourways so you will find the one that suits your taste. I personally loved the beige one which I think looks very premium. Unlike its original sibling, this mattress is a hybrid one. That means that you will find both memory foam and pocket springs. My Vital mattress arrived almost 10 days ago so I’m ready now to write this full review.

What is the Vital mattress made of?

The Ecosa Vital mattress is made of six layers plus the cover. These are:

• An air memory foam layer that is designed to keep the sleeping surface cool during the night. For this reason, it comes with pin-core holes.
• A tranquil memory foam layer that has excellent pressure-relieving properties.
• A transition foam that connects the upper layer with the pocket springs. This type of foam is designed to reduce motion transfer.
• A pocket springs layer that has the ability to support your body and spine. They have added a seven-zone system that can provide you with a more personalized sleeping experience.
• A recycled felt layer that protects the pocket springs.
• A reinforced foam layer that provides firm support but also protects the pocket springs.

This mattress measures 23cm in height so it comes with a medium profile. That means that your old sheets will definitely fit this mattress. The image below showcases the position of each layer.

The design of the cover is very similar to the one found in their original mattress and it features a blue bottom part with a white top part. How firm is this mattress?

For this reason, this mattress comes with a medium-firm feel. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 6.5 with 10 being really firm. Starting from the back position as always, the mattress felt comfortable and the springs did a good job distributing my weight evenly. The memory foam layer provided my body with the needed pressure relief and I felt that the mattress did a great job in this position.

Turning to the side position the pocket springs reacted quickly and that allowed a correct spinal alignment. There was no discomfort in the hips and shoulder area and the Vital mattress felt quite comfortable.

Finally moving to the front position the sleeping surface was not firm enough and I felt that this mattress won’t suit stomach sleepers. Having said that, if you’re not too heavy this one can still be good for you. Overall this is a mattress that is better suited to back and side sleepers.

If you share your bed with a partner the Vital mattress has the ability to minimize motion transfer so you can’t forget about the annoying partner disturbance. On the other hand, edge support is average but this is expected from a mattress of this height.

If you decide to buy this mattress, the good news is that you can still use your old bed frame. I placed my Vital mattress on my old slatted frame and it worked great. However, you can also use a box spring or a divan bed. In any case, you should make sure that your mattress is well-ventilated. This is the question that I need to answer now that I have completed this Ecosa weighted blanket review. In my opinion, this is a well-made blanket from a maker that you can trust. It’s definitely geared towards people who don’t have a normal sleep cycle but it’s not limited to them.

I don’t have any sleep issues but I really enjoyed the deep pressure which helped me calm down faster. It’s a nice feeling and for me, it improved the quality of my sleep. It’s not therapy but living under all this stress, it’s great to have this blanket to help our mind and body. Support & Comfort

The Ecosa topper has a soft feel and it was designed mostly to add comfort to an already firm mattress. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say that this topper is 5.5, with 10 being really firm. It’s definitely softer than all the mattresses that I have reviewed here. It would be difficult for me to talk about the different sleeping positions because it all depends on the mattress you will use it with. However, if you have an old firm mattress and seek a bit more comfort and pressure relief, this topper would be a great addition. The maker also suggests that it can reduce partner disturbance so if you share your bed then this can be a way to sleep more peacefully.

The topper is quite thick (5cm) which means that it can actually change the feel of a mattress and in general, I thought that the added comfort was quite noticeable. Overall, it’s a high-quality topper and it does what it’s supposed to do.

Trial period & Warranty
